Ceylon electricity board joint trade union alliance, says employees in electricity board will launch a continuous strike tomorrow (06) from 12.00 noon by closing down the power stations. They further says that more than 30 trade unions of Ceylon electricity board will participate in this strike.
Also says, this continuous strike decision has been made to protest the decision taken by electricity board authorities to end the service of 120 employees who have already completed their probationary period.
In addition, the trade union alliance says a mass agitation has been planned in front of deputy general authority office near the parliament circle in parallel to this strike action. Due to this cause of action, there can be a disruption in power supply and the government should be held responsibility for any inconveniences confronted by the masses further added.
