The UNP’s senior Parliamentarian and Deputy General Secretary Dr Jayalath Jayawardena will take over the Presidency of the UNP affiliated Trade Union, the Jathika Sevaka Sangamaya today.
Dr Jayalath Jayawardena has been a member of the UNP Working Committee since 1990.
He was appointed as a National List MP by late President D. B. Wijetunge in 1994. Currently, he is the UNP Chief Organizer of the Negombo electorate.
He has been an Assistant Secretary of the UNP since 1994.
