A Collective Agreement for the period of  2018  - 2020 was signed between the Jathika Sevaka   Sangamaya  (JSS) and the National Savings Bank (NSB) at the NSB Head Office recently.
A document comprising new proposals to be included in the Family Background Report (FBR) and various migrant issues made by the different unions at the Workshop was.. handed over to the Hon. Minister of Telecommunication, Digital Infrastructure, and Foreign Employment Mr. Harin Fernando by the representatives of the unions. The Chief Organizer of the Jathika Sevaka Sangamaya(JSS) Women’s Organization, Mrs. M.K.S. Damayanthi participated at this Workshop.
Mr. K. Chiran Maduwantha Perera , a member of the NTUF, member of the JSS Working Committee and JSS Branch President employed at the National Transport Medical Institute Nugegoda, as an Accounts Clerk and Data Entry Operator, participated at the ITC-ILO Course - A3 510027 Transition from the Informal to the Formal Economy: Trade Union Strategies and Follow-up to ILO Recommendation 204 held in in New Delhi India from 13th -17th November 2017.
Mrs. Welisarage Shiromi Roshanthi Perera, a member of the NTUF and the Jathika Sevaka Sangamaya (JSS ), working at the Employees Trust Fund Board as an Assistant Administrative Officer, participated at the FY 2017 JILAF Invitation Programme - “Exchange of Views on Labour Situation” Meeting held in Japan, Tokyo from January 13th to 27th 2018.
The Assistant Secretary / Working Committee Member of the Jathika Sevaka Sangamaya (JSS), Vice President of the NTUF and General Secretary of NBWU, Mr. Subash. Karunaratna, (Deputy General Manager of Lake House), represented Sri Lanka at the Third Regional Workshop on Knowledge Sharing of Good and Promising Practices to Promote Decent Work for Domestic Workers and to eliminate Child Labour in Domestic Work, held in Malang, East Java, Indonesia, from January 23rd to 25th 2018.
